Twisted South magazine is looking for literary worksfiction, nonfiction, and poetry, as well as reviews and interviewsas authentic and unapologetic as the South itself. We strive to always publish work that is intelligent, challenging and, of course, twisted. You work doesn’t necessarily have to be based in the South, but something about it should be Southern. A character, a trait or tradition, an idea; your work should feel like it could rest comfortably in the South. Not every character needs a redneck accent or a biscuit in their hand; we aim to celebrate the essential, eccentric South. Your work ought to reflect that.

HEY. So I’m the Lit editor for Twisted South magazine now. The mag was founded in 2010, was listed as one of the top ten best mags of that year, and has featured everyone from Billy Bob Thorton to Sonny Barger of the Hell’s Angels. The mag used to be carried in every B&N and CVS in America until the editor shut everything down in order to work on a relaunch. That’s where I came in. I’m now the lit editor and hopefully I can get some good shit in this new version of Twisted South. That’s where YOU come in. Follow the link above and send me work! Submissions are free so you got no excuses.
