So this year started out pretty rough. In February it got better. Then finding a job proved extremely difficult, but things finally worked out.
I decided that, while I love film and photography and painting, I wanted to focus on writing. And that was a wise choice, because it’s cheapest. Also, because 2012 is supposedly shaping up to be the Year of the Short Story, which is good.
I did a reading of my work at a university in the summer, which went well. I then began submitting my short stories to online / print magazines and journals. My first acceptance letter was in November. Since then the past two months have been wonderful.
Here’s a list of the places my work’s gone so far. Most are little websites or blogs, but it’s the little places that become big. I hope, anyway.
The stories range from funny to dirty to real to sweet, just like anything else.

2012 will start strong for me. I will be doing more readings soon, and I will have a story appearing on Smashed Cat magazine at the end of January, as well as a load of work —including a new short story series— appearing in Pork & Mead magazine in February.
Later in the year I will have stories in the experimental lit mag, theNewer York, and the Fourth River literary journal.
Much more to come. Thanks to everyone who’s shown support or given a few kind words. Always nice.
Final six word poem of 2011:
The bones
have life
in them.
